I was pleasantly surprised to receive this article from a close friend whom also decided to take a "Career Break" about the same time I did late last year. It intrigued me to read a bit more about this and I am heartened to find that LinkedIn has incorporated Career Break as a new category within staff's profile.
It can feel overwhelming when you are making the transition from a career break back to the workforce. Know that it is normal. A wise mentor told me, "Its good to finally have an extended break, but don't stay away from work too long... it makes the return harder." Thanks DD!
During your extended "vacation" keep yourself relevant by signing up for online courses or occasionally checking out the skillsfuture website. This way, when you are ready to rejoin the workforce, your engine is already somewhat warmed up.
Alright now, go give yourself a kit-kat!
